Brenna Gray: PAUL GRAY 'Wasn't Just A Drug Addict' Brenna Gray, the widow of SLIPKNOT bassist Paul Gray, has paid tribute to her late husband in the new issue of Revolver magazine, which remembers many of hard rock and metal's most dearly departed. Paul Gray's body was found on May 24 in a hotel room in a Des Moines, Iowa suburb. A coroner ruled that the 38-year-old musician died of an accidental overdose of morphine.
"I don't want people to judge him for the mistake that he made," Brenna told the magazine. "He wasn't just a drug addict. That was a little part of his life that he couldn't overcome," she explained.
"He was a great guy, a great musician, a great husband, a great friend, a great brother, a great son. And I just want people to know that."
Brenna went on to reveal that she hopes to help others learn from the tragedy via advocacy work.
"I've been working with the organization MusiCares, and if they can get my story out there, as hard as it is to tell... if one person can save their life with my husband losing his, that's what matters," she said.
Brenna Gray gave birth to Paul Gray's first and only child, a baby daughter named October Dedrick Gray, on August 17.
WILL HAVEN Putting Finishing Touches On New Album Sacramento, California's WILL HAVEN is putting the finishing touches to the follow-up to 2007's "The Hierophant". The as-yet-untitled, self-produced effort will mark the return of the band's original vocalist Grady Avenell, who rejoined WILL HAVEN in October 2009 after a two-year break. The CD will also feature SLIPKNOT percussionist Chris Fehn handling bass duties, following the departure of Mike Martin, who left the group to focus on family life.
"Grady is halfway done with vocals for the new record, all [we] can say is damn!" reads a post on the band's blog. "He is killing it! He sounds more amazing than ever: straight rage, emotion and feeling on this one. Getting close my friends. We can't wait for everyone to hear it."
"The Hierophant" was released in June 2007 through Bieler Bros. Records. Heralded by guitarist Jeff Irwin as "by far the best stuff we have ever done" and featuring production by Shaun Lopez (FAR, REVOLUTION SMILE) and DEFTONES vocalist Chino Moreno, the CD was WILL HAVEN's first release since 2001's critically acclaimed "Carpe Diem". It was also the group's first and only effort with singer Jeff Jaworski (formerly of RED TAPE).

WE ARE THE FALLEN Schedules Special Free Show In Los Angeles WE ARE THE FALLEN — the group formed by EVANESCENCE co-founder Ben Moody (guitar) and other former members (LeCompt and Gray) along with "American Idol" powerhouse vocalist Carly Smithson and bassist Marty O'Brien (DISTURBED, KELLY CLARKSON, STATIC-X, METHODS OF MAYHEM,TOMMY LEE) — has scheduled a special show on January 22, 2011 at the Avalon Theater in Hollywood, California. According to a posting on the band's Facebook page, the free concert will be "one-night-only" experience featuring "WE ARE THE FALLEN+Cirque+Carnival+Freakshow all in one. Come.... Dressed for the end of the world."
WE ARE THE FALLEN's debut album, "Tear The World Down", was made available on May 11 via Universal Republic Records. The CD sold 13,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 33 on The Billboard 200 chart.
WE ARE THE FALLEN made its live debut on March 23 at Kings College in London, England. A 28-city U.S. tour as the support act for HIM launched on March 26 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and wrapped on May 9 in New York City.
In an interview with Billboard.com, Moody said, "We had initially intended to go at this alone because we didn't feel like a major label was up to the challenge. I've had mixed experiences in the past, and major labels can fuck things up faster than anybody. But the entire Universal Republic team got what we wanted to do, and it was worth changing our plans and worth the risk to partner with them because we thought the outcome would be greater than something we'd do on our own."
LORDI Mainman Reveals 'Secret' About GWAR In New Video Interview Marple from German's pitXplorer magazine conducted an interview with Finnish heavy metal monsters LORDI before the band's December 12, 2010 concert at LKA in Stuttgart, Germany. You can now watch the chat below.
When asked what the differences are between LORDI and GWAR, LORDI mainman Mr. Lordi replied, "We're LORDI and they're GWAR. I mean, everything is different. I guess they're not that serious. I guess the only thing in common, actually, with GWAR and LORDI is that they're both rock bands and dressed up as monsters. Even though GWAR says that they're not human beings, but I can tell you a secret: They are."
LORDI in October announced the addition of drummer Otus to the group's ranks. Otus, whose name stands for "creature," is the tenth member in the LORDI family tree.
Commented LORDI mainman Mr. Lordi: "We are not really sure who or what he is, he is just … a creature, a thing (otus in Finnish). He is a mixture of a butcher, an executioner, an alien, a lizzard and a zombie. Tough dude. And definitely one of the ugliest members in our family..."
Otus made his debut during LORDI's European tour, "Europe For Breakfast", which consisted of 32 shows in 14 countries. The trek concluded in Hannover, Germany on December 19.

Corey Taylor Invites You To Watch "Hesitate" Taylor said that "Hesitate" is one of the standout tracks on the latest STONE SOUR album, "Audio Secrecy", for him. "It's a bittersweet song, " he said. "It's about letting go of something that you want with all your heart that you know is just gonna do nothing but damage to you. And it takes a special kind of heart and a special kind of courage to do that. And not a lot of people have that kind of courage.
"They would rather sit in a relationship for years and wallow in it because they're afraid of being alone. And this is about having the courage to say, 'You know what, I'm getting away. I'm gonna be on my own, and I'm gonna be OK.' And those first few steps are the worst, but once you get each foot in front of the other, it's a lot easier."

Stone Sour Embrace the Slow Burn in 'Hesitate' - Video Premiere For as much as Stone Sour hit the volume button and let loose with feelings of anger, the band also goes for the heart strings at times. 'Hesitate' is one such song. Frontman Corey Taylor called it "one of the hardest to put together." From an ember of hope to the growing fire that ends a relationship, this stop-motion video captured the struggling tale of 'Hesitate,' and we at Noisecreep are proud to unveil this Paul Brown-directed clip. In a video interview detailing each track on 'Audio Secrecy,' Taylor explained the work that went into recording the track. "I wrote that song about two years ago and it's a different kind of vibe for what people would normally know from me, but at the same time it's a fantastic tune."
Hesitate
Revealing the song's source, he said, "It's a bittersweet song. It's about letting go of something that you want with all your heart that you know is just gonna do nothing but damage to you.
